At AJE, we believe that every researcher deserves a voice, so we offer author-oriented solutions to overcome the many barriers to the publication process for researchers around the world. We are actively recruiting native English speakers in a variety of Business fields to edit scholarly manuscripts originally written by non-native speakers so that language is not a barrier to the communication of ideas. AJE's editors work on a contract basis and can select their areas of academic expertise, set their own availability, and determine the right workload; these settings can be adjusted at any time. Compensation is based on manuscript length, the quality of the original manuscript, and the customer's chosen turnaround time.
Please note that we are currently not recruiting editors whose primary area(s) of expertise fall under the Humanities. Our current needs are in the following Business fields:
-Economics (Micro, Macro, International, and Environmental)
To qualify as an editor, applicants must:
• either be enrolled in a graduate program or possess a graduate or professional degree;
• have demonstrated expertise in a Business field;
• have native English proficiency; and
• have a documented current or former affiliation (in the form of a degree, current enrollment, postdoctoral training, employment, or faculty appointment) with one of the schools or institutions from which we recruit Business editors.
The ideal applicant for this position would possess a MBA and have had exposure to the business literature. The candidates who have been most successful in the contract editor role are autonomous but receptive to feedback, have editing experience or a desire to gain such experience, are adaptable, and seek to make a positive impact on their field of expertise.
